The Situation
A couple with two school-age children had been living separately for some months but had not formally agreed on care arrangements. Both parents were involved, but there was uncertainty about what happened during school holidays and who would contribute what financially.
What We Did
After an initial consultation with both parents separately, we facilitated two joint sessions. We prepared a draft arrangement covering care schedules, holiday periods, and financial contributions, then revised it until both parents were satisfied.
The Outcome
A clear, signed agreement was in place within eight weeks. Both parents understood what they had agreed to, and the children's school terms and holidays were accounted for in full. No court involvement was needed.
The Situation
An international resident in Bangkok was considering separating from their Thai spouse. They were uncertain what their legal position was, what options existed, and what the process would realistically involve. They came to us before making any decisions.
What We Did
We held a separation options review — a single, unhurried consultation covering the legal framework, the available paths, and the practical implications of each. A written overview was prepared in English and Thai for the client to read at home.
The Outcome
The client came away with a clear understanding of what each path involved before making any decision. They were able to think things through properly and returned some weeks later to proceed with the option that suited their family best.
The Situation
Two parties had reached an informal verbal agreement about a shared asset and child support, but neither had written it down. Some months later, a disagreement arose about what had been agreed. Both wanted to formalise things cooperatively rather than go to court.
What We Did
We guided a single mediation session to clarify the points of disagreement and reach a fresh shared position. The session took about three hours. From that session, we drafted an agreement covering all outstanding matters.
The Outcome
A written agreement was signed within two weeks of the session. Both parties understood what it said — each clause had been discussed and agreed before it was drafted. The disagreement was resolved without either party needing legal representation in an adversarial sense.
